Ceaseless

Butterflies fluttering,
Melodious, sonorous sounds soaring
Across the starlit sky. Twang, woosh
Flying through the clashing chromatic colours:
Bullseye. Dizzying heights, a wounded heart,
Forever feeling, seducing sounding, heart pounding:
Shimmering Silence. Flickers of motion, rising
And falling. Forever and never, constantly
Pushing and pulling at your heart strings,
The weight drags you down but you’re
Buoyed up ceaselessly on the never ending waves.

Love

Tonight I experienced what I think love must feel like in Mendelssohn's Adagio from Cello Sonata no. 2 in D Major performed by Paul Watkins.

It begins with a solemn but beautifully rich chorale of arpeggiated chords, like the waves of yearning for that person. The cello enters with heartfelt longings through the rich colourful held notes. The quaver melody is introduced, rushing repeatedly as the heart beats faster at the thought of the one they love. It's treated sequentially so these flutterings of the heart sound like echoes, reverberating throughout your whole body. The music builds, the fluttering quavers rise ceaselessly until suddenly the true note resounds. The piece ends with aching colourful held notes, slowly diminuing until it stops - but the note still hangs in the air and does not fade.

If someone can make me feel the way music does, I know I will have found true love.

Together

Waves of warmth,
smiles and laughter,
Take my hand,
Together.

Face the blinding lights,
Tear ourselves apart
Wrap ourselves in the fires,
Together.

Recite the world,
The lyrics of the forgotten,
Sing with me,
Together.

Neon

Flashing lights and sailing
Moons. Moments of freedom.
Flash! Thunderbolts resounding
Loud, bright, frighten
ing
Heart is racing and mind
is running: colours interlope,
Hands intertwine, bodies
connect, forever, never, sparks
Fly and reasons die. Forever, never,
Together,
You and I.
